League Overview

The purpose of this league is to promote community, competition, health, and fun in a
structured recreational setting. While the league is competitive, it is considered non-
contact. Officials have full discretion to determine when contact warrants a penalty.
Rules may be adjusted by the league director at any time to improve the quality or
safety of play.

Game Rules

Game Length: Two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The clock stops for
timeouts, injuries, and all whistles under 1 minute of the first half and under 2 minutes of the game.

Halftime: 3 minutes (at the discretion of officials and scorekeeper).

Overtime: One 2-minute overtime; sudden death follows if still tied in regular season.
In playoffs, additional 2-minute OT periods will be played until a winner is determined.

Timeouts: Three 1-minute timeouts per game. Maximum of two per half. One
additional timeout in overtime.

Fouls: 5 personal fouls = disqualification. 7 team fouls = 1-and-1 bonus; 10 team fouls
= double bonus (carries into overtime).

Jump Balls: Standard jump ball at game start and for each overtime period.

Free Throws: Players in the lane may enter on the shooter’s release. Shooter and
players outside the arc must wait until the ball hits the rim.

Technical Fouls: 1st = warning; 2nd = ejection. No technical free throws—2 points
awarded + possession. Offender sits 2 minutes. 4 techs in a season = 1-year suspension.

3-Point Fouls: 3 free throws awarded on missed 3-point attempts if fouled.

Substitutions: Must check in at the scorer’s table. Enter only on dead ball when buzzed
in.

Blood Rule: Any player with visible blood must leave until cleaned and safe to return.

Mercy Rule: Max recorded point differential is 40. Officials may run the clock if margin
>25 in second half.

Playoff Eligibility: Must play 2 regular games to qualify. Injuries considered by league
director.

Playoff Format: Single elimination. Tiebreakers: record head-to-head point
differential coin flip.

Roster Limits: 7–12 players. More requires approval. Max 2 coaches.

Refereeing: Based on modified NFHS rules unless overridden by league rules.

Free Agent Policy

$25 deposit required.

Remaining balance due after placement.

Placement based on age, skill, and team needs.

Deposit refunded if not placed.

No refunds once placed.

Refund Policy

Team Fees: Only refunded if league is canceled or team is denied. No refunds after
registration closes.

Free Agent Fees: Deposit refundable if not placed. Full fee non-refundable after
placement.

No refunds for absences or injuries.

Code of Conduct

Respect officials, players, and spectators.

No fighting, taunting, threats, or profanity.

No alcohol, smoking, or drugs near facility.

No jewelry during play.

No hanging on rim or dunking during warmups (tech foul = 2 pts + possession).

Violators may be suspended or banned.

Managers responsible for team and fan conduct.

Forfeit Policy

5 players required to start.

10-minute grace period; after 5 mins, clock starts and timeout charged.

Both teams unable = double forfeit.

Forfeit = 25-0 loss.

 2 forfeits w/o notice = removal.

Notice 24+ hours in advance avoids penalty.

Using unregistered players = automatic forfeit.
